About Us

Donna Ognibene - Owner

Studio Owner, Donna Ognibene, is a former gymnast, marathon runner, and certified Middle School Teacher. Donna came to Pilates and Personal training after 15+ years in the Health and Fitness business. Pilates quickly became the specialty, as it illuminated what true movement is all about: uniform development of the body, breath as the bridge between body and mind, core strength and muscle length.

Teaching a wide variety of classes at the areas finest Health Clubs/Studios enabled Donna to create her own unique style of teaching movement. Creating and teaching courses for adults, kids, and teens has allowed Donna to further this perspective and connect to the joy of movement inherent in all of us.

Currently, Donna uses the Pilates Method and Orthopedic stretching to enhance the performance of the Belmont girls soccer team, to help clients restore and build core strength after surgery, and to provide a missing link in many fitness programs.

Sarah Whitten - Instructor

Sarah Whitten, CYT, discovered yoga 12 years ago as a graduate student studying vocal performance. Over the years her practice grew from attending weekly classes to a daily home practice as she explored the connection between body, mind and spirit. Discovering that as her body aligned, so did her mind she wanted to delve deeper into her study. In 2007 she decided to pursue yoga teacher training and completed Barbara Benagh’s 500-hour Advanced Study and Teacher Training certification program.

She teaches a slow flow style that is rooted in traditional hatha yoga and influenced by her additional study of both Iyengar and Yin practices. From her background as a classically trained singer, she brings many years of exploring the breath and its role in the health of the body to her teaching. Her classes have a meditative quality to them and encourage students to discover their physical edges and how they might correlate to their emotional edges. By lingering at the edge of comfort, students can invite the breath to dissolve tension, bringing new freedom and relaxation into both the body and the mind.

Nina Hayes - Instructor

Nina is passionate about yoga as a vehicle for living with courage and equanimity. Describing her yoga mat as a magic carpet, Nina experienced a transformative ride through physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges. She credits her yoga practice with providing her the tools to consciously navigate life’s obstacles.

Having practiced for over ten years, Nina’s unique style is a synthesis of her extensive dance training and draws deep influence from the Jivamukti School. She has studied multiple traditions including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Baptiste, and Restorative. Incorporating creative and flowing Vinyasa sequences, uplifting music, healing breathing techniques, and ancient spiritual themes relevant to modern life, Nina welcomes students of all levels. Yoga is less about what you do and more about how you do it.

Certified with Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level, Nina received her teacher training at Samadhi Yoga in Sydney, Australia and with the Jivamukti School in New York. She has worked with an array of renowned centers including Canyon Ranch and Boston Ballet. Nina has collaborated with Children’s Hospital Boston and Dana Faber Cancer Center researching exercise and nutrition initiatives benefiting Boston’s underserved populations. Off the mat, Nina works as a professional dancer and vegan educator/baker.
